Genevieve was born on February 8th, 2009, with a very rare genetic skin disease called Epidermolytic Hyperkeratosis (EHK). Her skin blisters and sloughs off from any trauma or pressure to it. The simplest things, such as changing her diaper and holding her, can and does cause her pain, and sores. She has a handful of doctors (ENT, Pediatrican, Dermatologist, Eye Doctor, Physical Therapist) who she will continue to see for quite a few years. There is no cure for Epidermolytic Hyperkeratosis.
